Instead of two separate posts about music, I’ll simply do one with two videos.
For this week I bring you two orchestral pieces. One is very relaxing and light while the other is, as my friend put it, “winner music.”

Gymnopédie No.1 by Erik Satie
Bo Burnham is one of my favorite comedic artists. His raps/songs are so smart, laced with puns and rhymes. Below is one of my favorites, simply titled “Rant.” I know I’ve posted this before, but lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Bo Burnham during my commute, and I wanted to post this again.

This weekend I discovered a new sub-genre of music called Melodic Dubstep. It’s also sometimes called Chill or Chillout Dubstep. Now, usually I wouldn’t consider dubstep as “chill” music, but I’ve discovered some great songs (and I still am). I’ve created a playlist that I’ll be adding more songs to as I discover them. I recently discovered this great music video by Yasmin, for her single On My Own. Not only are the instrumentals great, but the lyrics are really good. Not to mention that the video is shot beautifully.

So it’s been a while. Even though I wanted to post every week, that hasn’t worked out. We’ll see what happens in the future.

Dizzee Rascal’s Holiday
Although it was release in 2009 (and I’ve probably heard it before), I heard it again in London’s NYE fireworks display finale. My favority part of the song is the end, around 3:10 in the video below:

I recently found this BBC test on musicality. I’m not sure how accurate it is, but it was fun to take. I’d recommend taking it just for fun.
