Mercedes-Benz SF1 Concept Car

I’m not sure where I originally saw this concept, but the Mercedes-Benz SF1 concept car is the handiwork of graphic designer Steel Drake. It’s truly a breathtaking concept, so I’ll just let the pictures do the talking.

As this is my last post of the year, I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy New Year!

Saab’s PheoniX Concept Car

Source: Auto Blog

At the 2011 Geneva Auto Show, Saab debuted a new hatchback concept car called the PheoniX. Since Saab has now declared bankruptcy, it’s even more unlikely than usual that this concept will become reality. It really was a beautifully designed concept car, but all we can do now is dream. Check out some concept art below and head over to Auto Blog for some photos from the Geneva Auto Show.

Scion Designed THAT?! (plus Aston Martin One-77 and Kia GT)

I know the LA Auto Show premiered almost a month ago (I was actually in LA at the time but didn’t have a chance to go to the show), but I just had to post about three concept cars that debuted there: the Scion FR-S, the Kia GT, and the Aston Martin One-77.

The Citroen Tubik – The Pig in a Blanket Van

The Citroen Tubik, a concept to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, is an interesting design for a modern van. Citroen, a French car manufacturer, is well known in Europe, but largely unheard of in the US. Their slogan, “Créative Technologie” (Creative Technology), would seem applicable to the Tubik. Let’s take a look at the interior first.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato

The Zagato is a new car by Aston Martin to supposedly be released later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This new Zagato really does look nice, but only 150 will be made. Not surprising since the car will cost nearly $600,000. A few specs include a V12 engine and a 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds.

I first saw the Zagato a while ago on Top Gear (UK version, of course), but since then I’ve been trying to decide if I like it. You might ask what is there to not like about an Aston Martin. Well, I’m not too crazy about the design of the rear of the car. It just strikes me as a little strange.

Here are some concept renderings:

Gas Prices Skyrocketing

I can’t say that I know why the gas prices are so high right now, but I can tell you that California, Illinois, and New York generally have the highest gas prices.

Take a look at Gas Buddy’s Gas Price Heat Map and see how prices in your area compare with the rest of the nation:
