Android Wacom Tablet?

Source: Yanko Design

I love Yanko Design because it showcases some amazing concept art, and not just for gadgets. This time around they’re showing off a design for an Android powered Wacom sketching tablet. I’ve always wanted a Wacom tablet just because it’s so cool, but I’m not much of an artist, so I don’t really need one. I also really want an Android tablet (a Transformer Prime, preferabbly), but one thing has always bothered me about Android tablets: they’re not exactly designed for sketching or drawing, particularly because they lack a pressure sensitive interface.

That’s where the Sketcher comes in. It’s tailor designed for drawing something on the go. I’d also imagine that you could use it as a drawing tablet for your computer. Here’s a run down of the features:

  • 12″ amoled multi touch screen with led backlighting
  • 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity
  • Dual Core CPU
  • Android OS
  • WiFi
  • 8 programmable buttons
  • Capacitive jogdial
  • 2 standard USB ports
  • 5.0 MP camera with led flash
  • 1 Wacom standard graphic pen
  • Symmetrical design suitable for left and right hand people
  • Zoom function without changing tablet position

If someone like me desires this, just imagine what a graphic designer is feeling. Now if only we could get some of these features on a mainstream Android tablet.
