Fresh water shortage in Africa? No biggie, we’ll just tow an iceberg there.

For a paltry $10 million, you could tow a 7-ton iceberg to Africa. For just $90 million more, you could tow a 100-ton iceberg.

Is it really feasible, though? The experts say yes, and it could provide 1.5 million people with access to a year’s-worth of fresh water.

Surprisingly, the first test could take place as early as next year! The question now becomes, should we do it? I’m not convinced. With all this talk about small temperature shifts affecting the vital ocean currents that control the weather patterns for all of the Atlantic, how would a 100-ton iceberg (essentially a giant ice cube) off the coast of Africa affect these ocean currents?
